Duties / Responsibilities
This full time role offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of engine programs, both for internal Products and external Engineering consultancy.
Responsibilities include:
- Co-ordination of the design function to deliver powertrain integration activities (such as intake / Exhaust / power upgrades / fuel systems / powertrain transmission mounting)
- Assist prototype build activities.
- Develop and validation of components or subsystems from concept through to production
- Technical liaison with suppliers; Liaison with design and CAE on technical requirements / supplier input
- Planning and tracking release of components onto BOM structure and MPPDM (internal system)
- Generate engineering documentation such as BOM structures, FMEAs and concern resolution
- Co-ordination of problem solving activities.
- Responsible for supporting technical decisions, writing technical decision documents to be reviewed by head of department.
- Co-ordinate powertrain base engine develpoment and powertrain integration activities and develop / validate components from concept through to production
Qualifications and Experience
- Mechanical Engineering HND, degree or equivalent level of experience.
- Experience within automotive or similar industry in Powertrain design, development or testing with an automotive OEM.
- Specific experience of packaging Powertrain systems.
- Experience of the release processes within an automotive OEM
- Good communicator, target orientated, achiever, flexible approach, self motivated, can-do attitude and able to work within a team.
Worldwide travel to visit key suppliers may be required on occasion during critical phases of the development process.
