Power Unit Engineer

Under the supervision of the Power Unit Head, the Power Unit Engineer will mainly be responsible for the follow-up and development of the powertrain in all championships – except F1.

MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate will have the following main responsibilities for all championships – except F1:

  • The design and development of the powertrain regulations;
  • Technical liaison with the engine manufacturers for each category concerned;
  • Participation in the preparation of the “engine” sections chapters for the institutional meetings (Commissions, Advisory Committee, Homologation, etc.).

As an engine adviser, the candidate will carry out the following specific duties:

  • Organisation of the regulatory developments of the powertrains in conjunction with the Technical Director, under the supervision of the PU Head.
  • Preparation and organisation of institutional meetings on the development of the powertrains, under the supervision of the PU Head.
  • Participation, where necessary, in technical meetings (Technical Working Group).

The candidate will be involved in projects related to different sporting disciplines on the powertrains, such as:

  • Definition of the common standards among the different sporting disciplines for powertrain technologies, which include fuel and lubricants.
  • Definition of equivalences for the different powertrain technologies.
  • Assistance of the technical delegates of the different disciplines with the homologation and control of powertrains.

PROFILE:

  • Experienced engine manufacturer engineer – in-depth experience in motor sport (at least 10 years)
  • Testing experience desired
  • Advanced knowledge in racing engines
  • Experience in engine data analysis
  • Ability to maintain strong collaborative relations with a team based in different locations
  • Languages: French, English – required; Italian and German – desired
  • Mastery of the Atlas and Wintax software
  • Team player

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to find innovative solutions (thinking outside the box)
