Performance & Simulation Engineer
An exciting new role has become available for a Performance & Simulation Engineer within the Vehicle Dynamics Group, supporting external projects whilst reporting to the Lead VDG Simulation Engineer.
As a Performance and Simulation Engineer you will need to work collaboratively with customers to identify the current performance limitations and opportunities for vehicle development whilst utilising and contributing to the advancement of existing simulation technologies.
Key responsibilities:

To identify and develop solutions to address performance limitations of the customer car, resulting in delivery of lap time improvements

To propose and develop new performance concepts that deliver performance differentiation from competitors

To support customer car concept development using the appropriate simulation tools – Driver in Loop and offline simulations

To develop hi-fidelity vehicle models, in-line with the customer simulation strategy, to continually improve the simulation capabilities

To contribute to the continuous development of the simulation and modelling tools – Driver in Loop and offline simulations - advancing the customer’s ability to identify and develop holistic vehicle performance

To improve and develop new methodologies for performance analysis to support objective technical decision making
Candidate profile:
-
Strong academic background, with a Mechanical, Aeronautical, Engineering Degree (2:1 minimum grade) or similar.

Experience with simulation and vehicle dynamics in Formula One or another top-level motorsport category.

Appreciation of vehicle dynamics theory, efficient modelling & coding practices

Experience using Matlab and Dymola

Ability to work effectively in small, focused teams towards tight deadlines

Highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills
