Performance Engineer

Description

Responsibilities include assisting in establishing Performance Engineering simulation tools & methodologies and improve the competitiveness of HPD’s teams by creating and maintaining vehicle dynamics simulation activities utilizing steady-state lap simulation and dynamic handling/ride simulations.

Qualifications

Requirements include BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equalivant work experience. Must be proficient with vehicle dynamics simulation tools (steady-state lap simulation, dynamic parametric models, multi-body simulations, etc.), vehicle dynamics test rigs, on-car data analysis (logged data, telemetry, etc.), MATLAB/Simulink, C+, and Visual Basic, etc., Must be familiar with Driver in the Loop simulator (DIL).

Must have strong data analysis and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify and resolve routine problems. Strong PC and software knowledge including MS Office and MS Project. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in team environment with minimal supervision. Ability to be self-directed, detailed oriented who can effectively work well under pressure in a diverse environment. Ability to plan, organize, schedule and coordinate activities for self based on an evaluation of work needs and an estimation of timing. Demonstrates clear sense of urgency appropriate to a competitive racing environment.
