The Team has set a new benchmark for Formula One success during the sport’s current Hybrid era, winning consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and the Constructors’ Championship in 2021.

To be a part of our team, it does not matter whether you already have an interest in motorsport or not: we are looking for people who are passionate about reaching their full potential and are excited about constantly learning. We are highly focused on equal opportunities and pride ourselves on our strong, inclusive values and culture.

The role:

  • Highly analytical role in which the individual is expected to identify, analyse and develop solutions to improve vehicle performance.

  • Systematically investigate and understand mechanical and aerodynamic solutions to make the race car faster through regular testing of mechanical components and/or running Simulator tests.

  • Research and develop new concepts and procedures to design the future race car and enhance the Team’s capability to deliver car performance at a faster rate.

Responsible to:

  • Investigate and understand correlation differences between vehicle simulations and the race car behaviour on track.

  • Develop the vehicle simulation methodologies to better represent the compromises required for race performance.

  • Ensure robustness and performance of trackside tyre equipment & processes.

  • Analyse data from the track to understand areas for improved performance.

Responsible for:

  • Running of vehicle simulations to prepare the race car ahead of race events, offering guidance and advice on race car setup, working directly with the race team/operation.

  • Reviewing tyre performance from track data and proposing studies to find further potential utilisation.

  • To propose and develop new performance concepts that deliver performance differentiation from competitors.

  • To contribute to the validation and correlation of the vehicle and sub-system models to ensure validity of simulation results.

  • To improve and develop new methodologies for performance analysis tools to support objective technical decision making.

What we’re looking for:

  • Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering degree (preferably Masters) from a leading university or similar qualification is essential, but your skills, experience, ability to learn, energy and attitude are most important.

  • Excellent grounding in mechanics and in engineering numerical methods. Experience in non-linear programming techniques and optimal control will be considered beneficial.

  • Conversant with engineering software tools and object-oriented coding languages.

  • Excellent communicative and collaborative skills.

What do we offer:

At the heart of our performance are our people. Every member of our team has a voice and plays their part in contributing to our successes on and off the racetrack.

We take pride in creating an innovative, collaborative and high-performance culture where all of our team members are respected, empowered and valued.
