Job Description

NASCAR Event Management seeks a talented professional to join our team in the position of Part Time Transport Driver.  

SUMMARY

Drives transport hauler, sets up units at race track. Maintains, cleans, restocks and upkeeps the hauler. Completes and maintains all DOT and company requirements and related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Drive transport hauler(s) on an interstate basis and meet company guidelines including but not limited to; the guideline that transport haulers must travel a minimum of pairs. Any exception to the established guidelines must be approved by the Director of Transportation in advance.

Transport Drivers must report to work on departure days a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time to complete all pre-trip duties.

Complete and maintain all Department of Transportation requirements necessary to operate transporter (i.e. Commercial Drivers License, Testing, and DOT Physical).

Set-up units at race track. This includes all mechanical hook-ups, space organization and details.

Assist other Transport Drivers with set up of all other units.

Maintenance, cleaning, restocking and upkeep of truck, trailer and transporter equipment (e.g., Gators; generators; other equipment where applicable).

Transport trucks for service and maintenance.

Assist Timing & Scoring and Technical Inspection personnel as required at track.

Assist other Series driving transporters as requested.

Work at Transportation Center when not at race track.

Receive, unload, restock, maintain and inventory supplies at Transportation Center.

Percent of travel required: 90%, including weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS

Full time Transport Drivers must reside within a reasonable driving distance of the Transportation Center in Conover, NC in order to fulfill job responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or five years of experience CDL driving related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, create and maintain required reports and all related correspondence. Driver must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Commercial drivers license (CDL Class A) and NASCAR License.

OTHER SKILLS

Customer service, communication, people skills, is a reasonable and fair representative of the Company.
