Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking a Part Time Pit Mechanic Assistant. The candidate should be able to multi-task, and meet tight deadlines within a team oriented environment. The ideal candidate should have the ability to install or repair mechanical systems or components of the car, such as brakes, suspension, driveline, steering, cooling system or the exhaust system. Qualified candidates will be able to assist in the assemble, install, repair and/or replace and disassemble suspension components, springs, fuel cells, and fuel lines. Candidates will have limited to moderate knowledge of installing engines and attaching all required components. Must be able to communicate well to work closely with shop peers and departmental Supervisor to determine proper fit and finish specifications of race cars. The position requires strong attention to detail, a strong understanding mechanical functions and procedures, and how to apply the necessary understanding appropriately.
Requirements:
- High School diploma required
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule
- Thorough understanding of mechanical components and car systems
- Knowledge of and ability to use measuring tools
- Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for personal actions
- Ability to communicate effectively with others and get along well with teammates
- Strong ability to problem solve
- Ability to pay attention to minute details of a project or task
