Aeva is seeking to bring on a talented and motivated engineer to be part of the hardware team owning optical system and component testing with other aspects of hardware development. This person will lead testing and characterizing of free-space and fiber-optic components along with the optical system characterization.
What you'll be doing:

- Designing and implementing optical test setups and procedures for product development and reliability
- Taking optical components and deriving test plans for component characterizations
- Understand component level trade offs and design for system integration
- Programming experience in Matlab, Python, or C/C++ for automation testing required in design and development
- Strong problem solving, failure mode analysis, validation and characterization, as well as essential oral and written communication skills
- Familiar with optical modeling using Zemax, CodeV, and/or Fred
- Ability to work across a multidisciplinary team of optical, mechanical, ASIC, and electrical engineers
