Motorsports Technician – Sub Assembly

Position Overview

Multimatic Motorsports Europe operates a ‘works’ race team fielding a pair of Ford GTs in the LMGTE class of the FIA World Endurance Championship (including Le Mans) on behalf of Ford Motor Company. Entered under the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing banner, the team is a division of Multimatic Technical Centre Europe (MTCE). Aside from providing engineering and product-development services to Multimatic’s own manufacturing facilities worldwide, MTCE is a leading contract engineering and vehicle-development resource to major OEMs, motorsport teams and a growing number of niche-vehicle manufacturers.

Multimatic Motorsports is currently seeking to recruit a Sub Assembly Technician who will report to the Head of Sub Assembly and will assume responsibility of Sub Assembly tasks involved in preparing Ford GTE race cars to the highest professional standards.

Key Areas of Responsibility

As Sub Assembly Technician you will be responsible for the assembly, service and repair of the majority of the car components at race events around the globe and at the team base. You will take direction primarily from the head of Sub Assembly whilst working very closely with the Chief Mechanic, but also from the Race Engineers from time to time. You will be an excellent team player with a good work ethic and flexible attitude to work. The role will include extensive travel, a high level of commitment and candidates must possess a strong competitive nature.

Education and Experience

You must be an experienced motorsport technician and ideally have worked with a factory team in the WEC and at Le Mans. You may be required to be part of the team pit stop crew and experience within this area would be an advantage. The successful candidate will need to exhibit strong mechanical/technical and organizational skills; and must be computer literate to a basic level.

All applicants must be legally eligible to work in the UK and hold a valid driver’s licence and passport.
