As a part of the management team, you will lead a group of engineers locally and coordinate closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers at the Bosch Motorsport head office in Germany. Your major tasks will include product development, product management, and refinement of product development processes.

Job Description

Bosch Motorsport North America is looking to expand their high performance team with a Manager for Product Development and Product Management to foster its growth in developing products specifically designed for racing purposes. This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Full technical and commercial responsibility for development of Motorsport products, from idea to release of saleable products
  • Management of a team of development engineers across two locations (Novi, MI & Mooresville, NC)
  • Creation of comprehensive development process, custom tailored to the fast-paced timelines and specific needs of the North American motorsport market. Development includes requirements management, product ideation, prototyping, testing and release processes
  • Continuous improvement of development processes to guarantee the highest quality standards expected of Bosch within the rapid timeline that motorsport customers expect
  • Further enhancement of product development strategy through intensifying the cooperation with our headquarters in Germany
  • Implementation and development of business strategy. Set and achieve annual targets to ensure growth of the business year-over-year
  • Develop strategic pricing for new products and services in cooperation with the management team
  • Domestic and international travel flexibility required, up to 10% per year

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 6 or more years of experience in product development
  • 2 or more years of experience leading a team and developing direct reports

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Controls Systems, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in leadership position within an engineering environment including experience with engineering process management
  • Project management experience – specifically demonstrate knowledge of project management principles and the ability to apply these principles, tools and techniques to plan, manage and execute projects to successful completion 
  • Experience in managing development budgets with P&L responsibility
  • Experience working in a cross-functional role in technical sales or product management
  • Mix of Engineering, Technical and Business acumen
  • Integrates global and regional perspectives and requirements
  • Demonstrates experience in proactively engaging with customers / key stakeholders to exchange opinions, gain insights, build relationships, and find ways to create shared value
  • Industry experience in professional Motorsport, significant FSAE experience, or equivalent experience
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) - Native or minimum of C1 ( CEFR/ ACTFL)
  • German language skills
