Caliper Team Leader Role
Purpose:
To provide day to day support, setting and operating both 4 Axis Doosan and DMG Mori Seiki CNC milling machines.
Key Responsibilities:-
- Fully Conversant with Heidenhain and Fanuc Programming structure and Nomenclature.
- Work to tight tolerances and ability to check your own work meets the required standard
- To work on your own initiative and understand all aspects of the manufacturing process
- Work with managers to implement the companies policies and business objectives
- Keep a clean and manageable working area
- Take a responsible approach to health, safety and environmental risks and report them as appropriate.
- To run proven programs, adjust work and/or tool co-ordinates and correct any errors
- Carry out 1st off inspection from engineering drawings and update paperwork
- Carry out any other duties reasonable within capability as required
- To help ensure that the cell output is made to the agreed schedules
- To ensure the quality of machine output is to set specification
- To assist in the application of continuous improvement techniques / projects, to improve changeover times, standardize tooling and programs in order to continually increase machine uptime
- To apply machine maintenance as per schedules
- To complete accurately and in a timely fashion all relevant paperwork
- Co-operation and liaison with all other work areas, including possible secondment to work in other areas on the shop floor
- Responsible for 5S in own and other work areas
Key Competencies
- Fully skilled time served engineer/toolmaker with CNC milling experience
- CNC setter/operator with strong background knowledge
- Used to working to tight tolerances with all materials and able to interpret engineering drawings.
- Able to use a wide variety of measuring equipment
- Fanuc / Heidenhain experience essential
- Flexible, positive and courteous approach with a can do attitude able to work under own initiative.
- Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Extensive 4 Axis machine setting experience
