Mechanical Technician - Test Systems

Integral e-Drive, the electric drive division of Integral Powertrain has an immediate opening for an experienced Mechanical Technician to provide support in the development and maintenance of Test Systems and Portable Rig Equipment used during the testing of our ground-breaking technology.

Integral e-Drive continuously develop next-generation technologies as part of the move towards a more sustainable way of powering vehicles. We work with prestigious manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers, and our engineers create innovative, complex powertrain engineering solutions used for a wide range of applications in passenger and off-highway vehicles and motorsport.

You will have the opportunity to work on innovative powertrain projects, playing a vital role in the test and development of next-generation engines, hybrid technologies, and electric traction motors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, build, installation and commissioning of new test systems.
  • Assist with Test Facility fault diagnosis, repairs and upgrades.
  • Carry out maintenance duties in order to optimise test equipment reliability.
  • Identification of technical challenges and innovative solutions within a project.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with the company QA system to a high standard.
  • Provide a proactive approach to maintaining and improving the Health and Safety equipment employed within the Test Department.

Person Specification

  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification such as an HND, HNC or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a similar Mechanical Technician role within a relevant sector such as industrial machine building/automation or automotive test systems.
  • Strong machine building skills.
  • Basic machining and welding experience.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Have a reasonable understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • It would be advantageous for you to have knowledge of basic electrical systems.
