Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern at MILLER Electric is designed to give a student the hands-on exposure to day-to-day operations and assist with projects and research that bring in cost savings or revenue opportunity for Miller Electric Mfg. Company. Looking for a self-directed, results-oriented and customer focused individual.

Essential Functions: 

  • Begin to focus on specific engineering disciplines (e.g. power, control, communication, packaging, magnetics, thermal)
  • Learn basic problem solving skills
  • Begin understanding of standards, procedures and practices

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and technical knowledge
  • Classroom experience through the Sophomore year in an accredited Engineering University or Technical program
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Proactive in recognizing improvement opportunities are necessary
  • Prior Mechanical Engineering intern experience and Solidworks software skills are a plus
  • Interest in some of these areas: FEA, CFD, sheet metal, plastics, castings, heat transfer, magnetics, generators, IC engines, or electronics packaging
