We are currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work within our Aerodynamics Technology Development team.
The group’s remit is research and development of tools for aerodynamics development. In this role you will be an integral part of our multi-disciplinary design team, involved in a variety of innovative and cutting-edge projects primarily for our state-of-the-art wind tunnel model and facilities.

The ideal candidate should:
- Be proficient in CAD design, ideally Siemens NX. Desired modules; 3D modelling, assembly, drafting, FEA, kinematics and electrical routing.
- Have strong knowledge and experience in GD&T and tolerancing.
- Have a good working knowledge of current manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing, 3 and 5 axis machining, EDM, and welding.
- Have a good working knowledge of materials properties and specifications, surface finishing and treatments.
- Be comfortable with specifying and the use of standard mechanical items such as bearings, gears, couplings, linear systems, drive systems and tailoring these to the specific requirements of any individual project.
- Have a solid understanding of FEA techniques.
- Have a good working knowledge in electro-mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics
- Have relevant experience of systems design in Formula One or other motor sport environment, including AC & DC motors, sensors and connector technology.
- A creative and proactive approach to developing new concepts and problem solving.
- An organised and methodical approach to work.
