Mechanic - Automotive/Airplane

Job Summary

We are a precision manufacturer for the Aerospace, Military, and Racing industries and since 1934 have always been family owned. This position is full-time, permanent, with occasional overtime, and health/dental/retirement benefits available after 3 months.

Job Responsibilities:

Produce driveline components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Perform upgrades, maintenance, and repair on the facility and equipment. Participate in manufacturing (CNC machining, quality control, etc.) as needs arise.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. Pressing bearings, installing seals, testing on dynamometers.
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verify specifications by measuring components and completed assemblies; operate completed assemblies on test equipment.
  • Resolve assembly problems by working with the team to identify and perform necessary actions.
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; follow manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoot malfunctions; call for repairs.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed supplies; work with Purchasing Manager to place and expedite orders for supplies; verify receipt of supplies.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing miscellaneous tasks as needed (i.e. help out in shipping by packing parts, help clean someone else’s’ spill, etc.).
