Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Master Data Manager. In this role, you will identify, collect, and promulgate the Master Data “Source of Truth” (SOT) for our critical business data. Primary responsibilities include ensuring all aspects of master data in our catalog are managed, maintained, and coordinated through data owners in our divisions. The mission of the Lead Data Analyst is to support and maintain implemented data strategies and ensure the data integrity is at a very high standard supporting our customer's needs as they interact with our organization. This position ensures that Microsoft Dynamics 365 data processes are clearly understood and executed. In addition, you will be tasked with ensuring both cost and price records are kept up to date in the company's Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system. This position will lead strategy, tactics, governance, analysis, and solutions and build a team to support the organization's data needs. This position requires leading/mentoring and managing a small group of 1-2 direct reports.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the Master Data Team, assembling stakeholders across the business (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Sourcing, Operations, Finance, etc.) to understand and codify the data requirements of the organization
  • Meet these requirements by designing and implementing a Master Data Strategy that standardizes and establishes the Source of Truth (SOT) of critical entities like Customers, Vendors, and Products. As part of this effort, you will select and implement a Master Data Management tool and build a team
  • Data Steward, enforcing policies and proper coding to item master and customer master files
  • Understand and learn data processing system design methods, techniques, and standards
  • Implement and enforce standards and guidelines for data ownership, integrity, and accessibility
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets
  • Follows and implements data and database and data integrity procedures, strategies, guidelines, standards, support, and training
  • Lead/Ownership of the pricing strategy changes and short-term pricing actions
  • Ownership of the Flintfox pricing application
  • Lead/Ownership to Maintain sales price records in Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP system, abiding by customer-specific contract and negotiated pricing, chain customer contract pricing, and pricing matrices
  • Collaborate with product managers, buyers, marketing, finance, and IT to ensure efficient and effective price adjustments
  • Ability to take the initiative and develop a strong understanding of business functions and procedures is a critical aspect of this position
  • Utilizing business expertise to provide targeted analysis for recommendations to drive continuous improvement
  • Improve user efficiencies by studying current practices, designing modifications
  • Maintain system protocols by writing and updating procedures
  • Provide self-service references for users by writing and maintaining administrative documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people using a variety of communication methods, including writing (paper and e-mail), speaking, and listening to sound project status, and document projects and programs
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others on a team to share information, resolve conflicts, and make decisions in all aspects of Information Technology and/or network operations
  • Respond in a timely and professional manner to end-user requests, questions, and problems

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Accounting, or related field
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is desired
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Experience with mass uploading and bulk editing information in spreadsheets and Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect data inconsistencies
  • Ability to work with a variety of technical tools, including MS Access, pivot tables, and/or SQL database utilities for breaking down and analyzing data
  • Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is desired
  • Strong math aptitude (rates, percentages, gross profit and margin, sales markup)
