Role Overview

Working within the Manufacturing team, this role will report to the Sr. Manager Manufacturing Engineering located in Graz, Austria. The engineer will work on site alongside the Engineering Partner (Magna Steyr) and the resident Fisker team with the aim of supporting the launch and serial production of the Fisker Ocean. The successful candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of both Bodyshop and Paintshop manufacturing processes and technologies. The role will require strong communication and organisational skills as well as the ability to work cross-functionally and alongside external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Be the knowledge holder of the Bodyshop and Paintshop manufacturing processes, technologies and sequences
  • Support production team during industrialisation phase to improve production quality and efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes to deliver to cost, quality and delivery performance targets
  • Interface with external stakeholders to understand technical issues and assess next steps
  • Coordinate with Engineering team and external partners on BIW/Paint related workstreams
  • Track, manage and resolve technical issues related to BIW/Paint manufacturing
  • Assist and support cross functional launch team to resolve build issues

Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Degree or equivalent experience in relevant discipline
  • Relevant experience in the automotive sector (experience on a BEV is an advantage)
  • Ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and self-starter with a keen eye for detail
  • Fluent in English (German is an advantage)
  • Ability to form strong working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Must be computer literate with knowledge of relevant business systems (i.e.: Microsoft Office)
  • Working knowledge of appropriate CAD software (i.e.: CATIA)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the vehicle development process, milestones and deliverables is an advantage
