Job Description

Basic Description:

We are looking for a positive professional that has the ability to work well in a fast paced, dynamic manufacturing setting with strong continuous improvement skills and knowledge. The individual shall be a positive culture leader and influencer, develop employee/teams, and promote an engage and sage workplace. They shall have a proven track record in driving actions that achieve results in key areas of the business including safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost savings. This individual will also be responsible for facilitating and implementing both manufacturing and facility improvements across the division.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand, maintain, and continually improve manufacturing/assembly processes as related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Displays strong decision-making skills in a high-pressured environment using 80/20 to manage all aspects of the role.
  • Allocates time appropriates in production to improve conversion cost and have a functional understanding of the production equipment.
  • Provide information and collaborate with team to effectively manage production scheduling an resource planning.
  • Analyze data and use to identify root cause, explore, and select solutions, implement an action plan, and resolve issues.
  • Coach and develop work teams to have positive and proactive attitudes, personal accountability, and superior manufacturing quality.
  • Encourage employee ownership of operations, products, and processes.
  • Collaborate with production personnel and management to effectively support safety related initiatives.
  • Manage external contractors and internal maintenance support resources as needed.
  • Act as a coach/trainer for critical manufacturing/assembly processes.
  • Lead safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost saving initiatives through employee involvement and ITW toolbox principles.
  • Demonstrate and encourage effective communication to personnel at all levels within the organization.
  • Resolve problems causing production shutdown, substandard production, and or low efficiencies whenever they occur.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of professional work experience in a continuous improvement and engineering capacity.
  • Trained in lean manufacturing principles, Toyota Production System, TPM.
  • Trained and experience in root cause analysis and problem solving.
  • Experience in implementing line balancing, pull systems, establishing takt times, time studies, standard work, 5S.
  • Detailed understanding or production/assembly equipment, and its interrelationship regarding production flow and efficiency.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, takes personal accountability, coaches, listens, is approachable, and resolves issues/conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Exhibits encouragement of diverse ideas, with a focus on coaching/developing. strengths of team members, and the ability to facilitate effective communication between shifts.
  • Possess the track record of a proven leader and team player.
  • Displays great organizational skills with an understanding on prioritization.
  • Prove record in driving results.
  • Able to create visual factory analytical and date for all key manufacturing activities.
  • Strong initiative and follow through with a drive to learn.
