We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Engineer (Mechanical) to join the business as a Manufacturing Development Engineer.
We believe that for our engineers to be successful they need to truly understand our product and our customers. This is a hands-on production role that will provide you with that experience that will allow you to progress into a Project/Design/Manufacturing Engineer role with us.
You will be part of a skilled team of technicians that manufacture insulated exhaust / heatshield assemblies on time and to the required quality standards to satisfy SST customers, predominantly within the motorsport/automotive sector.
Working within insulation department, you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks to assemble insulation material around exhausts/heatshields, cover with thin sheet metal work, and then spot weld in place. This will require the use of mostly hand tools for cutting and assembling insulation material and sheet metalwork, and a spot welder for fabricating the sheet metal work in place. This requires a level of dexterity, intricate assembly work and attention to detail.
Your engineering qualification will be invaluable to us as it will allow you to consider process improvements within the production area, write our Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Risk Assessments and undertake tooling design projects.
