Manufacturing Cost Analyst

Hendrick Motorsports, a leader in the NASCAR series, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Manufacturing Cost Analyst. The ideal candidate demonstrates proficiency in cost accounting and has experience in a manufacturing environment. The position requires communication with colleagues at all levels of the organization and outside the organization. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Compile inputs from engineering, production, quality, purchasing and logistics to prepare estimates in response to RFQs.
  • Represent accounting department on Integrated Program Teams (IPTs). Attend meetings and relay critical information to accounting teammates to carry out the requirements of the IPT.
  • Turn data into actionable insights: Generate & distribute reports, as well as provide training & support to teammates to build company-wide dashboard reporting (Power BI)
  • Review production orders for accuracy and settle them financially
  • Oversee inventory values and perform variance analysis
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on product profitability, material cost, overhead/burden, and SG&A.
  • Ensure proper accounting treatment through the manufacturing process – troubleshoot and resolve inventory & production posting errors as they occur in coordination with production & inventory management personnel
  • Work with production team to ensure efficiency in workflow and processes
  • Participate in monthly close and annual audit process
  • Create and maintain procedure documents
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of D365 F&O ERP system
  • Abide by ISO 9001:2015 standards as it applies to the role
  • Lead special projects as assigned by the Controller or CFO

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting/cost experience in a manufacturing setting
  • ISO 9001:2015 experience a plus
  • Subject matter expert in ERP systems, D365 experience a plus
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM a plus
  • Proficiency in Power BI and Excel
  • A critical eye with strong problem-solving skills
