Job Description

In order to strengthen our racing team, we are looking for a Motorsports Manager with a strong background and experience in NASCAR competition. You will use your experience in NASCAR or other top level motorsports to work with teams and end users and ensure that a consistent product is provided and maintained such that the race teams can rely on GM provided tools to improve the performance of their race cars and optimize the execution of race events.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing the development and maintenance of all tools and development methods used to study the integration and resulting performance of the race vehicles in the GM NASCAR race program. Build and manage a team of engineers and utilize the internal resources of GM & GM NASCAR Key Partner teams as well as contracted third parties while problem solving and ensuring all tools operate efficiently and provide value. Work requires deep understanding of engineering concepts and helps set direction and independently makes decisions based on general practices and procedures.

What you will do:

  • Lead a group of engineers during the complete process of building systems to ensure best practices are applied

  • Supervise an inter-functional team, defining guidelines and ensuring an effective and efficient flow of information within different functions

  • Build and manage a multi-disciplinary team of engineers from a combination of GM NASCAR Key Partner teams, GM engineering, and new hire recruiting

In order to succeed in this challenging role, we are looking for a graduate profile:

  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering

  • Highly analytical, client-oriented and structured, with excellent relationship and communicative skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, ever changing environment, bringing a strong work ethic and integrity

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant motorsport experience

  • Experience with the architecture and performance of NASCAR race vehicles

  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering
