Job Description
NASCAR Media Ventures seeks a talented professional to join us in the role of Manager,Media Operations based in our Charlotte, NC office. Our Media Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the processing of media from videotapes and digital formats for use within the company’s Media Asset Management (MAM) System. Responsibilities may also include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

Less than 5% travel required for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversees the import and preparation of media files for the archive process and use in productions; includes identifying clips with top-level metadata and creating specific deliverables for clients in a variety of videotape and digital formats
  • Supervises the execution of requests base by internal and external clients; including duplication, output, FTP deliverables, digital archiving, restores, records, reconnects
  • Oversees the recording of incoming feeds
  • Oversees the quality control processes for digital assets within the digital archives
  • Completes high-profile and ad-hoc assignments and work orders
  • Maintains department processes manual; reviews regularly and updates as needed
  • Creates weekly staff schedule; adjusts as necessary to meet current departmental and company needs
  • Provides daily shift updates to staff and management on daily/weekly assignments
  • Manages the replenishment of supplies for the department

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus minimum five (5) years of experience in Information Technology or similar computer support role; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Mac OS X and Adobe Creative Suite
  • In-depth working knowledge of MAM systems and processes
  • Leadership experience; people management, project management, and/or process management
  • Advanced proficiency with editing programs (Adobe Premier, Final Cut, and/or Avid)
  • In-depth working knowledge and understanding of video technology; frame size, frame rate, coding
  • Quality Control experience; ability to troubleshoot and ensure accuracy of video output
  • Experience with HTML, After Effects, social media streaming
  • Experience using Content Management Systems (CMS)
  • Experience with File Transfer Protocol (FTP) using Aspera or similar program
