Role Overview
This role requires exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills. A successful candidate needs to thrive in a pressurized environment using data and facts to help identify risks, manage resources, and solve problems quickly and effectively. Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic sourcing process for the Interiors commodity area
- Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop a sourcing strategy and roadmap
- Develop sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps
- Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA’s, General Terms & Conditions and Production Supply Agreements
- Negotiate key contracts to optimize value
- Perform detailed analysis of supplier quote submissions based on cost breakdown data and support it with should-costs
- Identify and implement cost reductions on prototype and series production products and services
- Actively manage supplier relationships and performance through key performance metrics
- Ensure that the product is matched to the right supplier and ensure the supplier is effective in delivering the product in collaboration with Engineering
- Optimize the product’s financial performance in collaboration with the Finance team
- Work closely with Program Management to track sourcing progress and execute product and vehicle build events
- Support Supplier Quality plant audits and technical reviews·
- Ability to make strategic sourcing recommendations and take appropriate action
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Deep knowledge of sourcing, procurement principles, procurement systems and large company best practices
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ensure that internal operations and supplier activities are carried out in an ethical, responsible manner, using ISO2600/20400 as a basis
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or purchasing experience.
- 3+ years relevant experience with strategic sourcing of interiors commodities.
- 3+ years’ experience leading a team of Purchasing professionals
- 3+ years managing commercial business relationships with large suppliers in an Automotive, Electronics or high-volume manufacturing business.
- 5+ years MS Office
- Independent / Self Starting
- ·Fluent spoken and written English
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or master’s degree in related field
- 7+ years of procurement, purchasing, buying experience in the automotive industry
- Strong analytical ability to break down complex problems and data sets to derive meaningful, actionable results
- Comfort in working independently and in teams in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Ability to understand Engineering and Design direction and provide focused supply chain solutions accordingly
- Experience with automotive interiors products, and the design and manufacture thereof Superior relationship skills in creating and fostering working relationships within Purchasing, internal business areas and suppliers
