Job Description:

ARCA seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Digital Editorial Manager based in our Toledo, OH corporate office.

SUMMARY

The Manager, Digital Editorial (ARCA) is responsible for managing the overarching content strategy for the ARCA Series. This includes overseeing a team of freelancers, creating and programming content, and planning and executing projects for big-picture events. This position will be responsible for all levels of the content production workflow and help create efficiencies while managing ARCARacing.com and its social media platforms and working directly with the editorial staff managing NASCAR.com.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for managing and developing original, creative, editorial elements, focusing specifically on news stories, features packages and milestone recognitions
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with freelance writers and photographers
  • Maintain working knowledge of client server, web technologies and/or systems integrations
  • Utilize advanced writing and editing skills for editorial web publications
  • Maintain close relationships with Competition officials from ARCA Racing to improve overall team situational awareness and facilitate competition stories
  • Oversee team that writes, edits, cuts videos and programs website on deadline
  • Oversee delivery of editorial content for daily site operation
  • Manage maintenance of strategic documentation including editorial budgets, content plans, issue lists, etc.
  • Travel: 10% including weekends

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and a minimum of six (6) years related experience in public relations and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
