Maintenance Technician - Electrical Bias

Position Overview:

An exciting opportunity has become available to join our highly skilled and versatile maintenance team. Working as part of the maintenance team you will ensure that all plant equipment and machinery on site are operating efficiently with the minimum amount of downtime and that the high working environment standards are maintained throughout the facility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain plant and equipment to the highest standards to maximise production within the facility
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and all associated paperwork
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis and repairs
  • Maintain machine safety standards and control critical spares to minimise downtime
  • Provide accurate costings/quotations for onsite projects
  • Liaise with external contractors to arrange specific repairs & maintenance work
  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping including the upkeep of tools and equipment
  • Contribute positively towards engineering and manufacturing challenges.
  • Ensure that health & safety practices, legislation and Company procedures are always adhered to

Basic requirements:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Qualification or Apprenticeship with relevant experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering/electrical drawings.
  • Trained to IEE Wiring Regulations (17th or 18th edition)
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot electromechanical assembly equipment and control systems
  • PC Literate with the ability to follow documented procedures
  • Strong communicator with excellent organisational skills.
  • Commitment to achieving deadlines
  • Previous experience of working in a multiskilled maintenance role

Desirables

  • Maintenance and diagnostic experience of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control systems.
  • An understanding of PLC equipment and program editing
  • Familiar with Autoclaves within the Carbon Fibre industry.
  • Excellent fault-finding abilities
  • Experience of welding, milling machines, lathes, grinders, band saws, drills, hand tools etc.
