Maintenance Technician

Dart Machinery in Warren, MI is seeking candidates for a Maintenance position at our manufacturing location in Warren, MI.   

The Maintenance Technician will install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, electrical systems throughout the facility. Incumbent must be able to interpret and use electrical schematics, drawings, blueprints, manuals, power tools, hand tools, measuring and testing equipment. An understanding of A/C & D/C power, pneumatics, hydraulics, CNC trouble shooting and repair. Must follow all safety & environmental rules and regulations. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and perform preventative maintenance plan
  • Perform machine repairs, as required, in an efficient and effective manner
  • Maintain building lighting, electrical, plumbing and structure 
  • Keep current with all relevant environmental laws and regulations pertaining to your job duties
  • Utilize and maintain the company Lock/out - Tag/out program  
  • Maintain a clean safe working environment within all areas of the building 
  • Follow all safety procedures 
  • Report and process all unsafe conditions and acts in conjunction with the Facility/Plant Manager

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform basic math problems; read, write and communicate in English
  • Ability to use, interpret and follow the current version of the National Electric Code
  • Thorough understanding of machine maintenance, CNC equipment, electrical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics required
  • Strong mechanical background required; ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, machine schematics and/or ladder logic to effectively repair and maintain plant equipment required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in same/similar role
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; interaction internally with employees and externally with vendors
  • High school Diploma required; specialized training and/or education (certificate program, technical schooling, college courses) preferred
  • Must be available and able to work on weekends, overtime and holidays when necessary
