Your responsibilities

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the organizations goals and objectives. Sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate tools, mechanisms, and machines for experimental purposes.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs production equipment for a safe and productive work environment.
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and PLC`s repairs on equipment and facility structure.
  • Provides sound technical support to ensure facilities equipment is in a constant state of readiness.
  • Performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) to maintain safety and increase up-time of equipment.
  • Determines spare parts requirements and makes recommendations for equipment.
  • Assist with the training of new Maintenance Technicians according to certification process.
  • Works on process support equipment improvement projects directed by the Engineering Department.
  • Participates and contributes in a team environment by working with all levels of associates and coworkers.
  • Documents all corrective and preventive maintenance performed.
  • Assists Engineering team in various projects, such as: Work Instructions, PM procedures, PdM procedures, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Workflow and Space requirements etc.
  • Performs all quality checks including measurements and document sin SPC system in accordance to job specifications and standard work practices within assigned work area.
  • Maintains a clean work area, adhering to all housekeeping SOP`s in and around work area including 5S standards.
  • Works in accordance to all TS-16949 and ISO 14001 standards within assigned work area.
  • Operates facility equipment within all specifications in assigned work area.
  • Ensures compliance and safety of all activities within the organization standards and policies.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Your profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Considerable experience repairing and performing maintenance on manufacturing machinery and in trouble shooting, electronics 12VDC-460 VAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, motor starters, pumps and PLC controls.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Possesses a stable work history, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and a strong personal desire to work safely and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Demonstrates a strong customer focus along with a great work ethic and willingness to do what needs to be done (without taking shortcuts.)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic math, including working with decimals, and strong mechanical aptitude. Possesses a logical method of problem solving and willingness to learn and improve one’s skills. Demonstrates a strong commitment to meet and exceed customer requirements at all times.
  • Position is required to be able to work required overtime that can be substantial during peak customer production periods.
  • Possesses good hand-eye coordination and is able to perform detailed work with a strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Position is required to be able to lift to 40 pounds, perform repetitious duties and walk or stand for long periods of time on a daily basis.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work instructins, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Demonstrated reliability, good initiative, committed, and quality focused.
  • Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.
