Primary Job Responsibilities
You will define the low voltage electrical system requirements for Tesla’s vehicle programs and work with Tesla’s various component teams to ensure system success. Your work will include defining current and future architectures of the low voltage electrical systems, including distribution, fusing, loading, and software management, and to verify the compliance of the various systems to the requirements you define.
Responsibilities
Manage 12V system electrical loads and performance requirements Coordinate fusing strategy for the low voltage electrical system Test compliance of low voltage components Collaborates tightly with hardware teams to ensure efficient implementation and validation of new features, components, and systems Manage electrical load budget and fail safe strategies
Essential Skills
Previous experience with automotive electrical systems Experience in system-level design tools, including state machines, flow-charts, functional specification systems like DOORS, fault tree analysis, and failure mode and effect analysis Experience with low voltage system stress testing electrical test equipment and relevant standards.
Desired Skills
Experience with electrical CAE software First-hand understanding of automotive communication systems. Knowledge of working principle of lead acid batteries.
Qualifications
Greater than 5 years of engineering experience on multiple products that have entered production MSc., PhD. in Electrical Engineering
