LOGISTICS TRAINEE X2

Purpose of the Role:

A multi-dimensional role coordinating parts to build the TPC (The Previous Car Project) chassis for all events, the role will also include managing the milage of the parts for the chassis at every event. Close collaboration between departments will be key to this role due to the service requirements, the role will also include travelling to all events.  We have 1 permanent position and one FTC for 18 months that will likely go permanent after.

 

Role Dimensions:

  • Ensure close collaboration between departments is maintained at all times to guarantee that all parts are expedited through the business during service requirements.
  • Minimise downtime of workshops by ensuring operators are never waiting for parts
  • As a key liaison between manufacturing and operations planning, ensure all teams are aligned using project status updates
  • Work closely with the Planning Team to manage the priority of kitting to projects
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Team to highlight part shortages for future events

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Deliver kits in line with the Planning Project priorities to ensure each project starts on time
  • Progress chase all kitting shortages with the Planning & Purchasing teams
  • Complete store ops for all finished parts into M1 stores and store or distribute as required
  • Work with the TPC Team to deliver a smooth flow of finished parts for each event
  • Support as required the consumable stores stock with minimum stock reorder points
  • Create purchase requests to reorder consumable stock
  • Support as required stock control of the factory nuts, bolts & washer stock
  • Support at each event the milage requirements for each part of the run chassis and all spares
  • Support as required the Goods In office to receive all delivered goods, book in all receipts and distribute throughout the factory
  • Support as required the DHL Express courier dispatch services
  • Support the culture of Continuous Improvement for efficiency, speed and global visibility for all projects in the department – we live by a “can do” attitude
  • Provide briefs on the status of your projects you are involved with and provide management with a summary report when needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of process development and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Experience with managing the delivery of quality components to extremely tight and demanding deadlines with conflicting priorities
  • Proven track record of logistics and supply
  • Knowledge of current car parts
  • Has developed and participated in a team-oriented environment
  • Brave and comfortable to try new things
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, Javelin & Miles
