Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer of Body Engineering, this role will work with our engineering partner (Magna) and component suppliers to lead the Body Interior Cabin design, sourcing, development, validation and production launch. This role will require demonstrated outstanding skills in leadership, analysis, critical thinking, conflict management, and risk management.  You will work across the organization, with our engineering partner and component suppliers to ensure upstream and downstream impacts are identified, communicated, and aligned.  This role requires exceptional communication and organizational skills. A successful candidate needs to thrive in a pressurized environment using data and facts to help identify risks, manage resources and solve problems quickly and effectively. A strong team ethic with the ability to interact at all levels and across business boundaries is required to be successful in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Body Interior Cabin Overhead Systems – Headliner, Visors, Overhead Console, Carpet, Acoustics and Soft Trim Product Development Teams
  • Participate in defining technical and design verification requirements 
  • Business and Technical target setting and monitoring
  • Program metrics generation, including timing, delivery status and cost status
  • Identify design, development, and validation disconnects and proactively identify and implement all required resolution activities
  • New suppler engagement and capability assessments
  • Material and process assessments
  • Participate in the creation of validation test plans and ensure US/EU/China regulatory compliance
  • Become the key point of contact for Body Exterior components within the Fisker organization

Requirements

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering.  An MS degree is preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Body Interior Cabin engineering
  • Must have demonstrated success in leading and launching Body Interior Cabin parts on multiple vehicle programs
  • High detail orientation

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Fluent spoken and written English

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run
  • Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends where needed to meet deadlines and company goals
