Launch Engineer

Position Overview:

Multimatic Technical Centre Europe (MTCE) provides engineering and product development services to race teams and OEM’s around the world. It is Multimatic's Centre of Excellence for the ongoing design, development and implementation of DSSV® Damping Technology, and has established a strong relationship with key international Motorsports organisations. MTCE is also a leading contract engineering and vehicle development resource to major automotive OEMs and a growing number of niche vehicle manufacturers.

Responsible for completion of activities within production to meet the specific, cost, timing, and quality requirements as directed from the Programme team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and control project activities, track the project progress, define corrective measures if deviating form the Project Plan
  • Must create and provide status update reports to management on daily, weekly, monthly timetables as required to ensure clear communication
  • Must exhibit the ability to reduce broad and complex information into actionable plans with responsibility and timing
  • Must possess ability to interact cohesively between multiple departments, divisions, plants, suppliers, and management support teams
  • Must be able to set goals and accomplish through independent self-direction, as well as with teams
  • Must set complimentary short-term, mid-term and long-term goals with clear plans of action and accountability to support
  • Must have ability to strategically analyse and identify resource needs to ensure the success of production readiness for new product launches
  • Must desire to advance personal development and contribute to continuous improvement of processes
  • Actively participate in and support cost reduction, warranty reduction, Six Sigma, internal audit, and other production initiatives
  • Seek out the solutions to technical problems with the local team along with the larger Multimatic workforce
  • Act as assigned focal point and “Fast response” contact
  • Experience in a hands on development / workshop environment with fabricating, assembly technologies and ability to understand technical drawing
  • Supports and adheres to policies, procedures, and operational guidelines related to established quality management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO 90012014).
  • Maintains working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Engineering qualification or 3 years of experience in a similar automotive environment preferred
  • Knowledge of P.M. tooling and gauging designs preferred
  • Strong leadership ability and organizational skills
  • Basic knowledge of MS Windows
