Since 1959, Adams Motorsports Park has been Southern California’s home for kart racing and is the longest continuously running kart racing facility in the world. Through our gas go-karts and excellent staff, our passion is to teach and improve racing for all skill levels. As a Racing Instructor, you will be at the core of the day to day operations, leading and guiding students to a fun, safe karting experience. Is this you?

Only apply if you have a minimum of 2 years go kart driving experience at an outdoor track. Also, preference is given to individuals who have competitively raced go karts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to all AMP visitors
  • Teach students the difference between the gas and the brake pedal with an emphasis on braking while working on hand, eye, foot coordination.
  • Take students through on track drills while teaching them the beginning stages of driver control.
  • Teach how to maneuver kart under complete control.
  • Instruct on basic racing lines braking techniques.
  • Maintain track cleanliness at all times
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds (Required)
  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Enthusiastically brief students on safety rules before getting on the track
  • Assist with needed safety equipment
  • Control on track time in a safe manner to maximize learning and safety
  • Read and write handwritten notes.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have 2 years go kart driving experience
  • Provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Weekends are a must!
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in front of large groups
  • Must be able to adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Must be willing and able to drive karts daily
  • Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations and effectively respond to safety concerns.
  • Instructor will be exposed to heat (upwards of 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and cold.
  • Instructor will be exposed to a high level of noise.
  • Instructor will be expected to prepare Go Karts for operation before each lesson
