We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Embedded Firmware/Software Engineer looking to progress their career. Some industry experience would be ideal but more essential is someone with a passion for Embedded Software development and the technical challenges this offers. This key role is responsible for delivering the company's next generation of Sound Level Meters for a large range of industries including airports, race tracks, heavy industry, councils and noise consultants, whilst maintaining and improving our current product range.
This role will be based at our head office in Hunmanby, North Yorkshire with easy access to the beautiful North Yorkshire coast and Yorkshire Wolds.
Ideally, you'll have experience of embedded software development including experience with a number of the following:
- STM ARM Cortex micros
- Interfacing with peripherals using I2C, I2S, SPI and UART
- Advanced ADCs
- Storing data to memory (RAM, FLASH, SD Cards, CF cards
- Communicating via USB, Ethernet and Wifi
- Creating attracting easy to use GUI using OLED, LCD, TFT and e-Paper displays
- Audio filtering using DSP
- Writing bootloaders
- Real-time operating systems
- Watchdogs
- Creating drivers for Modems, weather stations, Bluetooth and other 3rd party devices
- Creating the Internet of Things (IoT) with low power communications LoRa, SigFox, LTE
We don't expect you to have experience of all of the above skills, but the right candidate will be someone who is motivated to learn new skills, willing to make major design decisions, and who enjoys working with a team to develop their skills to rapidly bring new products to the market, to constantly exceed customer expectations.

The Package
Salary offered is between £25k-£30k/pa depending on experience, plus additional benefits including pension scheme, death-in-service renumeration, medical scheme, active social club, company performance-linked bonus and discounted gym membership.
