IT Infrastructure Support Technician

The position:

We are looking to recruit an Infrastructure Support Technician to act as 3rd line support for all Williams IT Services, working alongside 1st & 2nd line technicians to resolve Service Desk tickets as per the IT escalation process

The role:

• Take ownership of all calls escalated to 3rd line and work with subject matter experts to resolve them.
• Work alongside technical specialists to transition new technologies into a production environment
• Be responsible for all BAU projects. E.g. upgrades to existing systems and new endpoint hardware roll out
• Contribute to an up to date Service Catalogue within their areas of expertise.
• Support 1st and 2nd Line technicians to enable continuous development of knowledge and skills.
• To continually strive to improve Williams IT systems, associated services and processes, ensuring technologies are utilised appropriately to maintain world class Infrastructure.
• To ensure Williams IT systems are fully operational at all times and meet the requirements of the business.
• To recommend and manage improvements and upgrades to IT Services, processes and procedures.
• To work with partners and colleagues across the organisation to deliver world class IT Services.
• To support the IT Operations Manager in developing the IT Operations Group capability and capacity to execute required work.

Core competencies:

• Fully competent in core IT skills and technical knowledge required to support effective IT services.
• Hands on technologist who can lead the implementation and upgrade of IT Services.
• Understanding of ITIL in order to contribute to IT Department Process Improvement initiative.
• Ensure effective evaluation of business risks and issues, aligned to IT Risk Management processes as defined in Williams’ IT Risk Charter; taking appropriate and timely action.
• Support IT Operations Manager to develop the IT Operations Team to meet changing Williams business requirements.
• Support other IT Operations Group personnel and help mentor less experienced team members.
• Provide recommendations for improvements to any IT services, to the IT Operations Manager.
