IT Application Analyst & Service Owner

Job purpose
The IT Application Analyst & Service Owner has the end-to-end responsibility for the efficient operation of our newly designed business application landscape.

As Application Analyst you assess new project requirements and ongoing enhancements in consultation with internal stakeholders and measure the impact on the existing application architecture standards

As Service Owner you ensure a smooth integration of new applications/further rollouts of the solution, minimize application unavailability from downtimes, and control the IT infrastructure capacity (cloud-based) and determine future maintenance/support needs.

You are part of a new business unit within Bridgestone, working in a start-up mentality.You work closely together with the stream leaders of IT and Business as well as 3rd party implementation partners.

Key responsibilities

  • Application lifecycle management: Gather business-related requirements in order to support solution modeling, enhancements, and perform required maintenance.
  • Project interaction: Working closely with Project Development teams to understand future project releases, impacts to environment, user functionality and capacity planning for short and long term planning.
  • Analysis: Providing input to the development of project initiation documents including objectives, scope, approach, estimates, and deliverables, when needed.
  • Quality assurance: Validate completeness of integration & UAT scripts, participate to testing, ensure knowledge transfer takes place at handover to Operations.
  • Release management: Ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented, and review production readiness and testing for code deployments scheduled for deployment.
  • Service management: Ensure Support team adherence to standard ITIL processes for Incident, Problem and Change management including adherence to key Operate SLAs - Incident and Business.
  • Collaborate and monitors processes and works with vendor to ensure optimal quality and system performance: co-ordinate with onsite/offshore support team to provide the guidance and clarifications for fixes/ enhancements.
  • Change Management: review all functional changes (project & support), approve in functional CAB (Change advisory board), advise to CAB & CROSS-CAB
  • Application documentation: Responsible of availability of up to date application documentation
  • Act as Window: Serve as an escalation point for issue resolution and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and management.

Accountabilities

  • Ensure efficient operation of newly designed business application landscape (TaaS /MOBOX).

Required capabilities:

  • Experience with working with on shore / off shore operations / support Teams
  • You are able to think conceptually and you have a high level of general analytical skills in an IT environment
  • You have a good business understanding and are able to communicate with both technical counterparts as well as business management
  • You enjoy working in a multi-cultural environment and matrix organization
  • You are able to learn quickly plus you embrace change as part of today’s business and IT reality
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Fluent in English – other languages are an asset.

Experience

  • Master’s degree or equivalent through experience in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in application analysis/development that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position.
  • 3+ years of experience in support of operational environments; with knowledge and / or understanding of ITIL methodology and effective operations governance methods and processes.
  • Ideally you are familiar with Azure Cloud environments: Data security, storage & back-up, Agile development (Scrum)
  • Knowledge of system integration (Web service API) is a plus
