Intern Ticket Sales Race Week Event

As an Intern at Kentucky Speedway in our Ticketing Department, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in the fields of sales and customer service. This internship will teach the importance of organization, coordination, and communication. You should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained experience in various aspects of ticket sales, event day setup, and customer service. The internship allows students to network within the motorsports industry and local community while working at one of the premier racing facilities in the United States. By the end of this internship, you will have a better understanding of the process and preparation that goes into planning and working at a race facility. Interns may work up to 40+ hours during the race weekend. This is a paid, hourly position at $8.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide & maintain the highest level of customer service to clients & guests
  • Event days with strong focus on customer interaction and service
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with lost tickets and other customer service related issues
  • Sales: sell tickets on Ticketmaster Archtics Systems during event walk-up
  • Will Call: Distribute will call and troubleshoot/manage customer expectations when issues arise
  • Mobile Ticketing Gate Support: assist guests with any mobile ticketing issues at stadium entrances
  • Understand all aspects of Ticket Office policies
  • Provide positive, friendly, and timely service to all guests
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

  • Perform other duties & responsibilities as assigned by managers

Qualifications:

  • College level student majoring in communications, sport management, advertising, marketing, or related fields would be a plus.
  • Desire to start & build a career in sports sales.
  • Previous experience in phone sales, outside sales, customer service, retail sales or ticket sales is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong enthusiasm, a professional demeanor & the ability to engage professionally with clients are required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast paced setting
  • Able to take and relay instructions
  • Experience handling and balancing cash
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well with others in a team setting.
