Intern, Internal Logistics

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract  

Contract Duration: 12 months

Purpose of the Role: An Opportunity for a 12-month placement within our Internal Logistics team to learn all aspects of parts logistics, project kitting, main stores, consumable stores and metal stores stock control and the smooth running of the goods in office.

Role Dimensions:

Work closely with the Internal Logistics Team to kit new projects and maintain consumable stock control, working to a planned program that will take you through all aspects Internal Logistics.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Key liaison with the Project Team to progress floor tasks as required
  • Kitting and expediting of parts to feed projects for key assemblies within in-house manufacture and subcontract manufacture
  • Support finished parts stores, flagging of any shortages that may impact project delivery
  • Provide briefs on the status of the projects that you are involved with and provide management with a summary report when needed.
  • Maintain the consumable stores stock with minimum stock reorder points
  • Create purchase requests to reorder consumable stock
  • Maintain stock control of the factory nuts, bolts & washer stock
  • Where appropriate assist in the packaging of goods for dispatch
  • Assist in the Goods In office to receive all delivered goods, book in all receipts and distribute throughout the factory
  • Development of systems and procedures to enhance the process and development of the team

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • IT literacy and ability to interpret data will be a significant advantage in this role
  • An understanding of F1 manufacturing techniques would be an advantage
  • Has developed and participated in a team-oriented environment
  • Brave and comfortable to try new things
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
