Inspection Manager

The position:

We are currently seeking an Inspection Manager to lead our team of Inspectors.

The role:

This is a key position reporting to the Head of Quality & Manufacturing Engineering, with day to day responsibilities to support the delivery of high-quality components to the agreed date to meet the demands of customers both within Formula One and Williams Advanced Engineering. This not only includes directly leading and managing a team of inspectors, but also influencing the work schedule to achieve the best overall business results. You will lead in the day to day running of the department, continuous improvement process and evaluation of current practices are a key requirement to be successful in this post. Excellent written and verbal communications are expected in this role with experience of working with individuals on all levels.

Key operational duties:

Overall management of the Inspection Area, including but not limited to Personnel (including overtime, holiday and sickness management), Inspection Tools (and associated equipment) maintenance/repair and Health and Safety.
As a first line manager, to provide guidance to your team and lead by example, ensuring Williams’ values and objectives are embedded into the team
To proactively liaise with the Drawing Office, Production Control, Business Partners and Managers across all areas of the business to enable the best overall results to be achieved, to schedule, and as cost effectively as possible.
To identify requirement for and to recruit a suitable level of resource to meet the business demands along with identifying development and career progression opportunities within the team
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, looking to identify ways to improve Inspection’s performance, quality, cost effectiveness and business impact.

Excellent team player and communicator, able to work effectively across multiple groups.
Highly driven and creative, motivated by their ability to impact car performance.
Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
Good analytical skills
