Information Technology Technician

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the IT Operations Manager, the IT Technician will provide technical support and assistance related to computer systems, hardware, and software. The IT Technician will serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone, email, or the ticketing system. The IT Technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. The IT Technician displays strong customer service skills when interacting with the customers.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Provide support on a variety of computer hardware and software issues by identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems
  • Deliver technical support in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Respond to telephone calls, email, tickets, and personnel requests for technical support
  • Document, track, and monitor problems/tickets to ensure a timely resolution
  • Self-motivated to identify and solve technical issues as to improve the service delivered to the customer
  • Excellent customer service, reporting, follow through, and time management skills
  • Works with other department team members to ensure good cross communication
  • Display excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude
  • Knowledge and experience with a wide breadth of Microsoft Products (Windows, Office 365, Teams)
  • Experience with imaging PCs and providing updates/patches through use of tools
  • Perform other duties assigned as assigned by the manager

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
  • Associate or Bachelor Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering: Preferred
  • 2 plus years of experience
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • In-depth understanding of computer systems and networks
  • Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Ability to exercise initiative and resourcefulness
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Knowledge of professional office practices
  • Knowledge of operating general office equipment
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
