Industrial Maintenance Technician

Summary: Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and electrical systems in an industrial facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Lane Automotive handbook.
  • Visually inspect, troubleshoot and test machinery and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain all inside and outside physical structures of establishment, including lawn cutting, snow removal, landscaping, etc.
  • Troubleshoot frequency drives, Electric motors, PLC’s, and vast array of sensors.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Run both Cat6E and Fiber communication cables and terminate ends.
  • Complete all preventative maintenance, noting items needing attention and work with the facility manager to schedule repairs.
  • Maintain documentation, record keeping and inventory control.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus such as lighting, motors, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery, equipment and building functions.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, drill press, etc. Operate cutting torch and welding equipment.
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills: 

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Journeyman’s card or 3-5 years’ experience in related field of industrial maintenance or machine repair.

Ability to use a digital multi-meter. Working knowledge of PLC’s and troubleshooting of electrical systems. Understand paint booths use and maintenance. Ability to read and interpret blue prints (both mechanical and electrical).

Certificates, License, Registration: 

Valid driver’s license. Journeyman’s card preferred

Physical Requirements: Lift repeatedly up to 50 lbs., occasionally to 100 lbs. Lift, carry, stoop, reach, pull, push and bend repeatedly. Climb stairs and ladders. Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee is frequently required to work extended time beyond an eight-hour shift/40-hour week including shift rotation and weekends.
