IMSA Technical Engineer

IMSA seeks a talented professional to join us in the position of Technical Engineer based in our Daytona office.

The Technical Systems Engineer II primary responsibilities include data monitoring, collection, analysis, and reporting across multiple series and classes. Assists in development, integration, and support of data acquisition systems.  Further develops performance algorithms, statistical analysis tools, simulations, and standardized reporting to the IMSA Technical Committee. Assists in management and distribution of electronic systems to competitors. Assists in writing and revising regulations, further developing enforcement methods, and refining the Balance of Performance (BoP) process.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Collection, organization, and internal distribution of logged vehicle data

Prepares post-session and post-race data analysis reports as directed

Develops and conducts vehicle simulations to support the Balance of Performance process

Development of data acquisition systems and methodologies as it relates to scrutineering and performance analysis

Directly interfaces with competitors and suppliers for all IMSA series on all data systems and electronics

Administers policy as defined in the regulations related to data systems and electronics

Architects data collection systems

Further develops performance algorithms, statistical analysis tools, simulations, and standardized reporting to the IMSA Technical Committee.

Generates reports for off-track (e.g. dynamometer and wind tunnel) and on-track data analysis.

Assists in writing and revising regulations, further developing enforcement methods, and refining the Balance of Performance (BoP) process.

Develops, designs and creates proprietary computer tools and software

Assist competitors with rules interpretation.

Approximate travel required: 50%, including weekends.
