IMSA- Coordinator, IMSA Communications

Job Description

NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Coordinator, IMSA Communications based in our corporate office in Daytona, FL.

The Coordinator, IMSA Communications is responsible for content on all IMSA social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) while assisting in the creation of content – stories, releases, statistical updates, works directly with the Director, Senior Manager, Manager and Coordinator in publicizing IMSA and its racing series to national and local media outlets - electronic, print, on-line, social and digital. The individual should be an outstanding communicator with experience in social media, public relations, writing, a familiarity with shooting and editing video (or a willingness to be trained) and have proficiency in the Adobe Design Suite (i.e. InDesign, Photoshop, etc.). Experience in professional/collegiate sports communications/content creation role desired.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Play leadership role in developing and executing comprehensive social/digital media plan that is year-round effort.
  • Write, edit, and distribute press releases to media e-mail list, IMSA website and IMSA media website.
  • Provide/post other IMSA content for the website.
  • Coordinate media interviews with drivers and team owners.
  • Compile information/content for the yearly media guide
  • Assist with planning and staffing event-related media tours.
  • Create and maintain databases of media outlets and driver and team information.
  • Compile and distribute event-based media kits.
  • Coordinate at-track media relations.
  • Approximate travel requited: 50%, including some weekends.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations / Communications / Journalism / English is required.  One to two years related experience preferred, but not required.
