Role Overview

The High Voltage Battery Team is responsible for the design and testing of high voltage battery pack. The HV Battery Test and Validation (T&V) Engineer is responsible for the test of battery pack and module as well as the test plan, review of test procedure and test results. The main job of this position is working with the HV battery supplier in China to review the test plan, test procedure, test setup, test results, and working with design engineers to identify possible issues with tests. In addition, the test engineer should investigate global test requirements and share their knowledge with engineers to make sure all the global test standards are included in the test plan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop for Fisker the internal HV battery global testing standards and develop battery testing requirements
  • Work with engineers to develop battery abuse testing catalog
  • Develop detailed battery test plans and procedures
  • Co-develop/review DVP&Rs with contractors and suppliers
  • Co-develop/review the critical battery safety tests with contractors and suppliers
  • Review, approve and signoff on all battery test plans and test procedures
  • Track DVP&R progress and drive resolutions for all test failures and ensure meeting program timing
  • Liaising technical requirements and discussions with contractors and suppliers
  • Work with contractors and suppliers of new testing methodologies and continuous optimization of the Battery DVP&R
  • Central point of contact for in-house and external testing partners
  • Developing technical solutions and implement decisions
  • Review test results with design engineers and help root causing issues
  • Find possible issues with test setups
  • Compile all test results/reports, analyze, approve, signoff and store in Fisker database

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in HV battery testing and proven record in developing and executing HV battery test plans and DVP&Rs
  • Extensive knowledge in HV battery systems
  • Extensive knowledge of global standards and regulations that apply to HV battery testing
  • Ability to lead contractors and suppliers and drive resolutions for all the technical testing issues and meet timing
  • Master’s degree in engineering (preferred)
  • Experience in data analysis tools and requirement engineering tools
  • Teamwork skills and pronounced technical leadership skills in complex organizations
