With the aim of making the new commitment to motorsports and to participating in an international race series, Audi Formula Racing GmbH is setting up a team to develop a high-performance drive system. As part of the internal combustion engine development division, you will apply your key skills working in an international team in Neuburg a. d. Donau with framework conditions that enable you to actively shape your day-to-day work.

In the area of internal combustion engine development, you will work on the fundamentals of the combustion process of a high-performance powertrain. It will be your task here, independently and on your own initiative, to optimize the combustion process on the basis of 1D mathematical models, real-time performance models,
reaction kinetic models and CFD flow analyses. You will also help design the process here, continue to develop the applied methods and make sure your results are satisfactorily validated. In collaboration with your colleagues from the areas of design, combustion process development, and engine testing, you will ensure that the components reach a maturity level that is required for the environment as quickly as possible.

Job Purpose/Role

  • Highly advanced simulation 1D (dimensional) / fluids / air)
  • Development of 0D/1D CFD performance model for motorsports application
  • Collaboration with vehicle and energy management simulations
  • Development of models for air and fluid systems
  • Development of performance models for real-time environment
  • Development of chemical reaction kinetics and fuel models
  • Methods development AI-based (artificial intelligence) modeling and self-learning algorithms Support for software and control development

Key Requirements/Skills/Experience

  • Technical studies in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or similar
  • Several years of experience in the field of highly advanced simulation, preferably in the area of motorsports. In-depth knowledge in the field of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics
  • Advanced programming skills in GT-Power/ Ricardo Wave / Matlab / Simulink
  • Secure handling of measurement data
  • Skills in handling CAD programs
  • Full professional proficiency in German or English and a willingness to learn a basic level in the corresponding other language are prerequisites
  • Excellent teamwork skills, organizational skills, and keen sense of responsibility
  • Flexible, independent, and precise working practices

 

Additional Information
