Graduate HPC Software Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic graduate to join the CFD team. This is an important role in which you will work closely with our HPC experts to manage the CFD process stack on our HPC hardware, and to help develop a CFD workflow which supports the fastest possible race car development.

Key Operational Duties:
• Assist in the development and implementation of CFD workflows
• Cover basic system administration tasks in liaison with the system manager
• Conduct benchmarks and performance evaluations
• Collect and report on HPC statistics and incorporation into wider reports
• Liaise with hardware and software vendors as required
• Provide at elbow-support to users of the CFD process
• Provide out-of-hours support for limited critical CFD process issues.

Essential Skills / Credentials
• Degree educated in Computer Science or related technical subject, preferably to Master’s level
• Good knowledge of Linux systems
• Proficient with Linux shell scripting, Python, and ideally C#
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively and communicate succinctly under pressure

Desirable Skills / Credentials
• Good understanding of key CFD processes
• Experience of Java, C++, and SQL would be advantageous
• Experience of parallel file systems, MPI, batch scheduling, containerisation, and GPU processing
• Experience with HPC systems
• Experience with OpenFOAM and Star-CCM+
