Graduate Control Systems Engineer

We are recruiting for a graduate control systems engineer to join the F1 Controls Group at Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix. You will be part of a small team, responsible for developing the capabilities required to deliver performance and reliability for cutting edge projects in motorsport and beyond.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop real-time control and simulation software for our test facilities (e.g. dynos, driver-in-the-loop motion simulators)
  • Create and maintain software and systems to support control system operation and performance development (e.g. calibration, data analysis and simulation tools)
  • Train and support end users (e.g. controls engineers, test engineers and dyno operators) to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Develop and support internal controls software build and continuous integration tools and processes
  • Introduce new ideas, technologies and solutions, to continually improve our performance development capabilities

Candidate Profile

As a successful candidate, you will have a strong mathematical/engineering degree and a demonstrable interest in the following:-

 

  • Control systems software development using Matlab / Simulink.
  • Machine control / robotics
  • Data analysis

You have an open and curious mind, a creative approach to engineering problems and are keen to develop yourself further in a demanding role. Your open and honest communication style means you relish team collaboration, you enjoy discussing technical concepts and finding solutions to problems by applying your interpretive skills, attention to detail and dependable judgment. Passionate about fulfilling your potential, you are excited about constantly learning while fostering the understanding of others.
