Goods In Administrator

Duties / Responsibilities 

The role will be based primarily around booking in all receipts and services on IFS. Maintain a failed booking log using an access data base. Issue and tract all goods to their correct location using IFS. Be the first point of contact for all forklift moves on site prioritizing the most important.

Ensuring goods arriving on site are received, booked in, stored, routed correctly and delivered at the right time to the correct delivery location.  Identifying potential shortages, balancing line stocks & identifying shortfalls to Material Control. Ensuring that the dispatch of all required goods (parts and containers) for Production is carried out efficiently

This role has the potential to grow and the department expand and develop with new products planned in the coming years. Training will be given to enhance and develop the skills of the individual and the Logistics team so that Manufacturing receive a premium service.

Roles and responsibilities will include a combination of the following:

  • Ensuring the booking in of all receipts and services on IFS
  • Checking that all delivery notes have the correct information needed to process them.
  • Maintain and log all failed booking using the access database
  • Issue items of stock usuing the appropriate codes
  • Transact and move stock across various sites using IFS
  • Coordinate all forklift requests for the whole site, prioritising the most important
  • Safe operation of Fork Lift, Man up Narrow Aisle, Tow Tugs, Lift Stackers & Powered
  • Pallet Trucks, where required by the role
  • Maintenance of IFS with respect to stock quantity and locations accuracy through the raising of concerns with appropriate personnel
  • Carrying out line counts to identify potential shortages, balancing line stocks across locations & reporting of shortfalls to the Material Control department.
  • Ordering or Issuing of material from stores
  • Organising the dispatch of materials & bins as required for both Production & Project.
  • Working within Safety Guidelines (including movement of Dangerous Goods)
  • Keeping themselves & others safe at all times
  • Handle all parts & equipment with care & attention
  • Use & maintain all supplied Personal Protective Equipment in good condition.

Qualifications and Experience 

Essential  

  • GCSE Maths and English
  • Experience in Dispatching, warehousing, logistics or production role within a manufacturing company
  • Competent in the use of Excel, Word & Email software. Ability to work on own or as part of a team
  • Experience in a clerical, technical or production role within a manufacturing company
  • Full UK driving licence 

Desirable

  • ONC or above in Engineering / Supply Chain related subjects. NVQ in Warehouse or Logistics
  • Experience of Dispatching, Logistics/Warehousing/Prototype in a Car Manufacturing company
  • Experience in Logistics/Stores/Manufacturing operations in automotive industry
  • Ability to communicate at all levels from senior management to production workers.
