Functional Safety Engineer (EE & ADAS)

Responsibilities

  • Perform “Functional Safety” responsibilities working within Project Teams, developing safety-critical EE & ADAS systems
  • Create project specific “Safety Plan” & define responsibilities according to DIA (Development Interface Agreement).
  • Coordinate engineers working at the system, hardware and software development level within Karma Automotive and suppliers to achieve functional safety objectives
  • Lead and own the development of functional safety technical work products (hazard analysis and risk assessment, item definition, functional safety concept, technical safety requirements)
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative analysis, using methods such as FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and alternate safety analysis approaches
  • Manage and review the functional safety work products according to Karma’s documentation guidelines and processes
  • Develop test case specifications for safety requirements
  • Conduct assessments and reviews with 3rd party Functional safety consultants and work with DRE’s to formalize the changes
  • Support bench/HIL tests and system/vehicle validation of functional safety requirements
  • Work with other Functional Safety Engineers from Powertrain & Chassis teams, to have cross-organizational functional safety concept & implementation
  • Help Develop processes and standards within Karma Automotive to ensure compliance with the ISO 26262 standard and promote a safety culture at Karma Automotive
  • Perform other duties as necessary for completion of functional safety developments and achievement of departmental goals.
