Full-size Machine Shop Nightshift Setter Operator

We have a new opportunity to be part of the Full-size Machine Shop team in the role of Night shift setter operator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate 3 Axis / 5 axis CNC machines using both Heidenhain and Fanuc controls to produce machined components.
  • Assisting within other areas of the department as required
  • Ability to deal with technical challenges as they arise and know when to ask if unsure
  • Meeting challenging and demanding deadlines
  • Maintaining consistent high standards
  • Being proactively aware of Health and Safety requirements

The successful candidate must have the following attributes:

  • Previous experience programming setting operating 3 axis / 5 axis CNC machines with Heidenhain / Fanuc control
  • Experience with Openmind-Hypermill would be an advantage
  • Experience and knowledge of a machine shop environment
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A methodical and thorough approach to your work
  • Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with the ability to work well with colleagues
  • Be self-motivated, enthusiastic and a dependable team player
  • Possess good IT skills would be an advantage
  • Have a positive attitude and be willing to help throughout the department
  • Work well under pressure to meet time critical deadlines
  • A willingness to work extra hours as required

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, hardworking, knowledgeable

of machine shop practices and standards, flexible, proactive and have a ‘can do’ attitude. 

This is a Night Shift role Tuesday to Friday.
