Our advanced CNC machining capabilities and committed machinists support world class Motorsport, Automotive OEM’s and Defence customers globally with prototype components. Our machine shop incorporates the latest machining technology including MAZAK INTEGREX , VARIAXIS with High Speed 5 Axis Milling Machines to produce the complex machined cast components in aluminium, stainless steel and iron materials. Further investment in top of the range 5 axis machines is also planned.

To support our ongoing expansion, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mazak/Heidenhain CNC Machinist working on the night shift.

The Role

  • Working as part of a prototype team to machine aluminium, iron and stainless steel castings to a high quality:
  • Create and edit using either Mazatrol and/or Heidenhain.
  • Competent ability to set and operate 5 axis machining centres
  • Inspect your machining with hand held measurement tools including height gauges, vernier’s, and bore Mics.

Qualification & Requirements:

  • You will ideally be apprentice trained or time served machinists and have a minimum of 5 years CNC machining experience with complex components.
  • You must be a self starter and experienced enough to work independently.
  • You must have experience working primarily with Mazak or Heidenhain controls and programming using Mazatrol with any other Offline CAM programming experience beneficial.
  • Proven experience setting and machining iron and castings using 5 axis/and or Mill/Turn machines
  • Competent to use hand held measurement tools including eight Gauges, Vernier’s, and Bore Mics. We would be interested if you have CMM inspection experience.
  • We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced rapid prototype environment and has the flexibility to be prepared to support our customers demands when needed.

What we offer

  • Salary: Permanent position on nights with an hourly rate of £18 plus 1/3 night allowance dependent upon experience and machining knowledge.
  • Holidays: 22 days (inclusive on Bank Holidays) per year.
  • Hours: Full-Time, 40 hrs per week. 10 hours per night 5pm – 3:30am Monday – Thursday including 30 minutes unpaid break.
  • Salary: £20.00 to £22.00 /hour

Experience

  • CNC 5 axis machinist: 5 years (Required)
  • Mazak or Heidenhain: 5 years (Required)
